Kitty

Since we have had several toy deaths lately (RIP Puppy and Sheepy II), I took Dagny with me to the pet store to pick out a new toy. We walked up and down the aisles for a good 10 minutes, and she showed zero interest in any of the options available until we got to the second to last bin.

A little background:
Last week, Lindsey and her two kitty cats stayed with us for a little while. Hank was mildly interested in the kitties - but much more so in eating the kitty food and kitty litter. Dagny, on the other hand, was VERY interested (and terrified) by the kitties! Given the chance, she would chase them under the bed, screaming in terror as she barked (a scream we have only heard when she hurt herself as a baby and when got her paw tangled in the table leg).

As such, it was unbelievably funny that out of ALL the toys in the store, in the second to last bin, Dagny stopped and chose Kitty as her new toy (all by herself - I swear)! I know these dogs are smart, but can these things really be just a coincidence?

Dagny + Kitty = BFF
Of course, Dagny didn't get to play with Kitty for long. In typical Hank fashion, Hank decided that this new toy was pretty great, and so Dagny had to watch as he played with Kitty.
Hank + Kitty = Lots of Fun for Hank
Dagny was NOT amused, although she did present me with multiple other options to throw (pictured are Sheepy I, Ropey II, and Hamburger).
After only FIVE minutes with H.P., Kitty had already had a hard first day in the Rhamey house.
We decided it was time to rescue Kitty so that Dagny could play with her new toy before Hank destroyed it completely. While Dagny was happy with his plan, Hank wasn’t really feeling it. Nevertheless, if I saw this look, I would stay away.
. . . not Hank the Puppy though!
Hank + Dagny + Kitty = BIG Fight

I knew Dagny loved the kitties more than she was letting on!

Too funny! Toys don't last long in our home, either. Athena eats them.
